If your family has one central computer which is used by parents and students, everyone should be in the habit of logging out of the City Gates Academy website and the webmail clients when they leave the keyboard.
Its a good security practice and is a way to avoid much confusion.

On your first visit to CGADE.ORG, here are some suggestions to "get your feet wet".

The CGADE development team received some feedback that people were annoyed (or inconvenienced) after receiving a new content notification containing multiple items. I think the issue was that people were flipping between the email and the website in order to read the new posts.
There is a much simpler way....
You should know by now that when you get a new content notice, some itemswill only be visible after you login. If you click on a link for private content and are not already logged in to cgade.org , you will received an "access denied "message. Once you do login, you will see the page.

CGA community members have already been assigned username and passwords. The email addresses on file with the school should already been linked to the CGADE website login.

A new feature allows you to control when your post will be published and unpublished. This is useful if you have content that is time sensitive or will not be useful after a certain date. It also means that you will not have to delete it when it has expired, because the feature will make it invisible after the "unpublish" date. To use this feature when creating most types of content;
- Start posting your item as you normally do
- Scroll down to the "scheduling options" menu and click to expand
- Enter the date to begin publishing, or leave blank to publish immediately **

In your internet browser and any other security programs you are running, you must permit cookies from cgade.org in order to login. The reason for this is because by logging in you are establishing a secure connection of sorts.
When you are log off it is safe to delete the CGADE cookies. Personally I believe in living as "cookie free" as possible.

When you receive an email notification about new content, keep in mind, some content is private. In these cases, simply clicking on the link should result in a "ACCESS DENIED" error.
If this happens, simply login and click the link in the email again....
