Community - It beats the alternatives
When the concept of a website for CGA was first kicked around, the ideas quickly led to the conculsion the school needed more than a website to me the need of this somewhat virtual education engine.
Amidst the hype of launching the site, resolving problems with access and formating, training and administration, it is possible an important message went un-noticed.
The CGA website is not about technology. It is not about a platform for information dissemination. It is about something homeschoolers excell at and rely on much more than many groups. It is about networking in a community of people who all have something to share.
Did we get it right? Was the technology platform selected able to deliver what CGA needs? Recognizing that no technology is perfect, I hope we have come close. We can of course continue to build and improve the platform, appearance and features.
However, the bottom line on whether CGADE provides value to students, families, teachers and administrators, helps CGA to grow in enrollment and scope and enriches the homeschooling experience for those involved depends on the investment individuals make in the community.
YOU ARE ALREADY DOING THIS - by phone, by email, in the halls of CGA. When you use the website for this as well, you help build an archive of shared ideas which lingers on to help others. Here are some suggestions:
1) Post a link for a educational resource site

2) Ask a question in a parent, teache or student forum.
